You can find a bunch of general info about my likes and dislikes, often about these specific canons, in my yuletide tag of -- ahem -- quite a few years of letters, often about some of these very same fandoms, but here, the basics:

My only real DNWs are brain damage/memory loss stories and graphic sexual assault -- other than that, I'm easy.

A lot of the character combinations I've requested in here are on my list because I ship them, but I am literally always happy to read gen fic, and if I'm interested in characters romantic dynamic together, I'm pretty much always also excited to hear about their friendship/rivalry/whatever platonic dynamic they might have going on. I love family-centric stories, I love messy, unresolved emotions, I love both wild AUs and meticulous close-to-canon pics -- mostly what I love and hope you love is whatever it is that makes these characters who they are, and what makes their voices their own.

Casson Family books, Indigo and Tom

I would love either future fic that looks at how their relationship might continue over the years -- ways of staying in touch, maybe? -- or, if you think they wouldn't, what it might look like for them to run into each other years later, after a period of long absence. If future fic isn't your jam, I would also be super interested in an AU, if you wanted to put this very particular friendship into a different context. I'm fascinated with the very different way these two kids think about family, and how, when we first meet them, Tom has some things to learn from Indigo, but I have a feeling that at a certain point in Indigo's life, he may hit a point where he needs to learn a little bit from Tom, either about having some more boundaries with his family, or in allowing himself to be upset sometimes, because he's such a character that has internalized the need to be the calm at the center off all that chaos, and no one can be that all the time.

Fresh Meat TV show, Vod and Oregon

Okay, so whether you actually ship them or not, they are in LOVE, okay, even if they never technically get together, theirs is a romantic, obsessive, messy, consuming friendship and I love it so much. Tell me about their summer backpacking! Tell me about what how they do or don't stay in touch after Uni! tell me about Vod meeting Oregon's parents! Tell me about how long the name Oregon lasts, tell me about a time when Oregon's horse girl past gets them into horse race betting and they either make or lose a whole lot of money really fast, tell me anything, pretty much. I love them.

Bridget Jones movies, Mark, Bridget, Daniel

Okay, so Bridget Jones' baby was actually a ton of fun, and only would have been made better by the inclusion of Hugh Grant, but the teaser at the end was fab, tell me about Daniel Cleaver's resurrection and how absolutely annoying he is about it, tell me about Daniel Cleaver, world's least likely babysitter and/or live-in nanny, tell me about our portags either deciding to or not to have an entirely ill-advised threesome, or deciding not to and doing it anyway. Tell me about the resumption of the will-Mark-and-Bridget's-kid-go-to-public-school fight in movie number two, but now it's not theoretical. If you want to go in more of a Mark and Bridget direction, I'd love to hear more about either of them dealing with each other's families, or friends, and what that looks like -- the odd-couple thing that is so much of the appeal of them together is also such an interesting thing for them to navigate once they're together.

Paper Girls, any character

One thing I love the most about this TV show and the comic series is the way it deals with the time travel, multiplicity of selves, metaphor of younger and older versions of the same person getting to talk, getting to fight, getting to try to protect each other or give each other a hug. I really love how the show handled Mac's brother -- and, really, all of the other girls' older selves, and I love the idea that they can bond and stick close together as their kid selves, but then maybe, in one way or another, end up getting to know or spend more time with, or be stuck in a different sector of space-time with other versions of their friends, and in what ways there is or isn't still a bond there.

I loved the show and was so sad to hear it was cancelled, so if you wanted to do a what-happens-next in terms of the timeline of the show, I'd love that, but any kind of character study or deep-dive into any of these kids, or any of their more individual relationships with themselves, each other, or any of the other versions of each other would make me so so so so happy.

So hey, mystery yuletider, I'm so happy we matched on whatever we matched this year, and I am so excited to see whatever you end up being excited to write about. Feel free to either ignore or dig into any of these musings in whatever way feels best to you!
